Spark
Mowers need a spark to ignite the fuel. Check for spark by holding the plug wire with insulated pliers approximately 1 inch away from the engine and turning the engine over. Replace a corroded, dark or broken tip spark plug with a new one.
Choke
Any mower is notorious for not starting without the proper choke setting. Try different choke settings, working in increments from all the way engaged to slightly engaged while using the pull-start.
Gasoline
Look into the gas tank to ensure that the machine has gasoline. Some Yard Machines need a specific gasoline level in order to start. Low or nonexistent fuel will cause the Yard Machine to not turn over. Clean dirty fuel and air filters, and remove and clean dirty fuel tanks.
Other Issues
Check for a faulty or dead battery. Ensure that the safety switch is disengaged and the battery is properly hooked up. Replace any broken or blown fuses.
