Bolens lawnmowers utilize a rear-mounted engine and a suspended mowing deck on a lawn tractor to enable the mowing feature on the tractor. A pulley on the bottom of the engine drives a belt, which in turn drives the pulleys that spin the mower blade. Eventually, the blade starts to wear out. You will know it's worn out when the blade squeals as you mow the grass.
Park the Bolens lawnmower on a flat surface, and then position the mower deck in its lowest position via the mower height adjustment lever, which is located on the right side of the mower. This maximizes the space between the top of the mower deck and the bottom of the tractor.
Push down on the mower clutch lever, which is located on the front housing of the mower beneath the seat, to stop the mower blade. This releases tension on the mower's pulley system and loosens the mower's belt.
Remove the belt from the pulley that protrudes from the bottom of the engine, and then pull the belt off the pulley system on the mower deck. Pay attention to how the belt routes around the pulley.
Place the new belt on the mower deck pulleys, and then set the belt over the pulley on the bottom of the engine.
Raise the mower deck, and then engage the mower clutch before you attempt to mow.
