Houseplants make our homes healthier. Through the process of photosynthesis, some houseplants remove pollutants from indoor air. One of these plants is the philodendron, and the Prince of Orange hybrid is no exception. Growing to 24 inches in height, Prince of Orange exhibits striking red-orange foliage which turns to a deep green in maturity. Like most philodendrons it is an easy-care plant, requiring very little to keep it healthy.

Place Prince of Orange in an area of the home where it receives filtered sunlight and the temperature remains above 60 degrees Fahrenheit. The intensity of the plant's coloring depends upon the amount of sunlight it receives, so adjust the lighting until the plant is exhibiting bright, vibrant colors.
Keep the Prince of Orange away from heater vents as dry heat may curl the foliage. It should also be kept out of cold drafts.
Water the Prince of Orange philodendron when the top inch of soil is dry. Apply enough water so that it drains from the holes in the bottom of the pot. Do not allow excess water to remain in the saucer under the plant.
Fertilize the philodendron once a month in spring and summer with an all-purpose houseplant food, at half the strength recommended on the label.
