Use indoor potting soil, as it is sterile and contains no weed seeds or fungi, which could potentially be fatal to your cactus.
Things You'll Need
Potting soil
Coarse builder's sand
Peat moss
Bone meal
Add 1 part potting soil, 1 part coarse builder's sand and 1 part peat moss to a large container.
Mix the ingredients in the container, using a large stick or wooden spoon, until the ingredients are thoroughly combined.
Add 1/2 cup of bone meal to a 12-quart measure of the mixture.
