Briggs & Stratton engines are very common on a variety of machines like generators, mowers and go karts. Over time components of the engine will wear out and you will need to replace them; a common part that will burn up contacts is the solenoid. The solenoid takes electricity from the battery and converts it to the amount needed for the starter on the Briggs & Stratton engine. The solenoid will be mounted on the frame of the machine between the battery and the starter.
