Toro Recycler lawnmowers were designed with a cutting height adjustment that gives you more control over the height of your lawn. Though grass height is an aesthetic choice for many people, it also has a practical use---longer grass prevents the soil from drying quickly and the grass from dying. Learn how to properly adjust the cutting height of your Toro Recycler will help prevent injury and potential damage to the mower.
Turn off the Toro Recycler by releasing the blade control bar, which is attached to the handle. Wait for the engine to shut off completely and for the blade to stop moving.
Determine the height you want your lawn. The Toro Recycler has nine height settings, from 1 1/4 inches to 4 1/4 inches.
Pull back on the lever attached to the right front wheel and slide it toward the back of the mower to increase the cutting height and toward the front of the mower to decrease the cutting height.
Release the lever over the notch of your desired height to lock the lever in place.
Repeat Steps 3 and 4 on the three remaining wheels. The mower will not function properly unless the cutting height is the same on all four wheels.
