The Massey Ferguson 135 was an all-purpose farming tractor manufactured in the middle 1950s. The company was bought out by AGCO in 1994. The clutch on the Massey Ferguson is used as part of the tractor's manual transmission. Like the clutch on a car, the 135 clutch is pushed in while shifting the tractor from gear to gear. If the resistance of the clutch begins to dissipate over time, the clutch may need to be adjusted. Always try adjusting a clutch before replacing it outright.
Things You'll Need
Socket set
Use the socket set to remove the belt cover from the tractor's clutch pump.
Loosen the clutch pump bolts so that the belt loosens some.
Adjust the belt so that it is slotted correctly on the pulleys and pry the clutch pump assembly to the right with a large screwdriver to increase tension to the belt.
Tighten the clutch pump bolts and replace the belt cover with the socket set.
