Snapper is a manufacturing company that specializes in lawn equipment. Snapper is mainly known for producing a wide line of both riding and push mowers. Snapper riding mowers use a drive disk hydro-gear transmission. Over time the drive disk may become misaligned. This can cause a range of problems with the transmission including the inability to shift from gear to gear. When the Snapper drive disk goes bad, you should replace it with a new one.
Things You'll Need
Jack
Socket set
Replacement drive disk
Park the mower on a flat surface and engage the emergency brake.
Slide a jack under the front frame of the Snapper and jack it up.
Locate the drive disk underneath the right-front bottom of the engine. The drive disk is a round metal piece with a rubber bushing, which is a round, hard rubber piece that functions like a washer. It is held in place by bolts.
Loose the mounting bolts with the socket set, remove the old drive disk and hold the replacement in place. Slip the mounting bolts into place and tighten them with the socket set.
Lower the Snapper down from the jack.
