It is important to read the label on the weed & feed package to ascertain that it is safe to use on centipede grass. All-purpose mixes can harm the grass.
Application
Apply the weed &feed to centipede grass two weeks after green up -- when the lawn comes out of dormancy. You must apply it before the temperatures reach 85 degrees Fahrenheit, so don't wait too long after the lawn breaks dormancy.
Considerations
