Oak trees usually grow between 50 and 70 feet when mature, according to Colorado State University. The tallest of the oak varieties is the white oak, which can reach 100 feet in height.
Types
Since there are numerous types of oak trees, each will have a different average height. While the white oak grows quite large, the pin oak and the red oak are more average in height.
Time Frame
The older the oak tree's life span, the taller its average height. The tall white oak can live more than 300 years while the pin oak, one of the smaller species, has an average life span of 100 years.
