Although white flowers are less common than their blue and red counterparts, there are still several varieties of flowering bushes that produce white flowers. Choisya is a small evergreen shrub commonly seen in warm climates, like that found in the southwestern portion of North America. Also known as elderberry, European black elder, or sambucus nigra, is a type of shrub residing mainly in the Northern Hemisphere. These shrubs are covered in small white blossoms from late spring through summer. The flowers are replaced in early autumn with a dark blue berry that is edible despite the leaves, blossoms and wood of this shrub being highly toxic to humans.
