History
Briggs and Stratton is a leading manufacturer of gasoline engines used to power lawn and garden, and commercial power equipment. The company was formed in the early 1900s and has filed hundreds of patents and produced more than 10 million engines.
305cc Intek Engine
The 305cc Intek engine is used in applications ranging from snow throwers to rotary garden tillers. This series of engines was introduced in 1998.
Design
The 305cc Intek is a gasoline powered, overhead-valve (OHV) single cylinder engine made from aluminum. The crankshaft has a horizontal configuration--perpendicular to level ground.
Size
Its overall dimensions are approximately 15" long, 12" wide and 16" tall. The internal displacement of the cylinder is achieved with a bore/stroke of 3.12" by 2.44".
Power Output
While not rated in horsepower, the 305cc Intek engine is available in two torque ratings; 13.5 lb./ft. and 14.5 lb./ft.
