History
Robert Jameson discovered gerbera daisies in 1884 around Barberton, South Africa. The flower was eventually bred to create even larger and brighter blooms, and today it has become one of the most often used cut flowers.
Scientific Name
The scientific name of the gerbera daisy is Gerbera jamesonii. The gerbera daisy is a genus of the family that includes sunflowers and asters.
Meanings
