Lawns infested with viruses and parasites need treatment immediately. Puppies are a major factor in bringing parasites into the home. Puppies and dogs that come from shelters and kennels frequently have worms and other kennel borne diseases. Most of the time dogs do not pass germs to people but some diseases and viruses can make people sick. It is best if your dog was treated for a parasite or virus to sanitize the home. It is important to sanitize the yard as well because the germs are passed in the feces.
Things You'll Need
Scooper or shovel
Plastic containers
Trash bags
Hose
Bleach
Spray bottle
Viral disinfectant
Use the scooper or shovel pick up all the dog droppings.
Place all the fecal matter in the sealable containers. Put containers in a trash bag. This will help ensure that if the original containers break the feces will not escape to the garbage can. Dispose of the entire contents in the garbage can.
Hose down the yard to spread the feces particles left in the yard. This will make it easier to kill the parasites or virus.
Use a 1 to 30 solution of bleach and water. Spray entire yard using a spray bottle or a pesticide sprayer. Spray all driveways, porches and walkways. Do not forget to spray the kennel area if you have one. Wash the dog's bowls and bedding.
Clean and disinfect the scoop or shovel with viral disinfectant to rid the tools of any feces.
