The Southern Devil is only found in Georgia and the striped scorpion is one of the most common scorpions in the country. Although many people have been stung, the venom from any scorpion in Georgia will not be fatal, unless there is an allergic reaction. Changing the habitat for the scorpion in the home and on the property can help control and get rid of these scorpions.
Things You'll Need
Caulk
Caulking gun
Door sweep
Insecticide (scorpion specific)
Place the tube of caulk in the caulking gun and use it to seal any cracks or crevices in the exterior of the home. Squeeze the trigger on the caulking gun to apply caulk to the desired area. Scorpions can enter the home through these unsealed cracks and holes in the home's exterior.
Install door sweeps in all exterior doorways. Door sweeps help to close off the area between the bottom of the door and the floor. This is one of the routes that scorpions will use to enter homes. The door sweep will make it impossible for the scorpion to enter through the doorway, unless it is open.
Search the exterior of the home for areas that the scorpions may use for shelter. These types of hiding spots include piles of bricks, firewood, stones, wood debris, or any other damp and dark areas. Remove or spread out these areas to reduce the number potential habitat areas for scorpions.
Apply insecticides that are made specifically for combating scorpions. These insecticides can be purchased in spray or powder form. Apply the insecticide around the exterior of the home using the manufacturer's directions.

Scorpions are nocturnal and most active at night.
