Boric acid is known to control a variety of insect pests including ants, roaches, termites and wasps. A solution of corn syrup, water and boric acid can be effective in eliminating large populations; the sugar attracts insects, and the boric acid will finish them off. Adding the solution to a sprayer allows for targeting lawns and other large areas. Though boric acid in large quantities is slightly toxic to humans and pets, it is much safer than chemical pesticides.
Things You'll Need
Boric acid
Sugar or corn syrup
Mix 1 tsp. boric acid with ? cup sugar or corn syrup. Use more or less sweetener as necessary, but preserve the ratio. Heat the solution and stir until well mixed.
Wait for the solution to cool.
Add an equal amount of water to the solution and stir until well mixed.
Fill a sprayer with the solution and apply it to target areas.
