Sears Craftsman manufacturers a full line of gas-powered chainsaws for wide range of workloads. For the homeowner needing to cut firewood or trim tree branches, the Craftsman model 358.350370 is a 16-inch pull-crank gas chainsaw that makes quick cuts in logs or limbs up to 10 inches in diameter and needs very little maintenance. Over time, its not uncommon for the vinyl gas line that supplies fuel to the motor to become brittle, leading to cracks or fuel leakage. Replacing it will get this dependable chainsaw back to work.

Rest the Craftsman chainsaw on a firm and level surface to make the fuel line repair.
Remove the motor's top cover. The cover is secured with two screws, one at the front and one at the rear, just beneath the top handle loop.
Locate the fuel line and fuel filter. The fuel filter is a clear, plastic or glass cylinder with a corrugated paper filter inside on the right-rear of the motor, beside the carburetor. The vinyl fuel lines are connected to each end of the fuel filter and lead to the fuel tank and carburetor housing.
Remove the old fuel line and filter assembly. Squeeze the retainer clips securing the fuel line sections to the gas tank and the carburetor inlet, using regular square-jawed pliers to spread the clips. Slide the clips toward the center of the fuel line sections and pull the lines loose from the connectors to separate the lines from the motor and from the fuel filter. Retain the retainer clips for the new fuel line installation.
Cut the new fuel line tubing to match the lengths of the existing fuel lines.
Attach the two sections of new fuel line to each end of the new fuel filter. Squeeze the clips with pliers to position them approximately 1/4-inch for the end over the filter inlets.
Install the new fuel line. Slip the ends over the fuel outlet beside the gas tank and the fuel inlet at the base of the carburetor, then secure the fuel lines in place using the retainer clips. As with the connection to the new fuel filter, squeeze the clips with pliers to position them approximately 1/4-inch for the end over the carburetor and gas tank inlets.
Replace the motor's top cover and secure it in place. Tighten the cover screws with a screwdriver until snug.
