Kubota tractors provide the smaller size needed for many jobs on your field or lawn. Various components of the tractor wear out over time, one of them being the steering wheel. The oils from your hands -- and the heat from the sun -- crack the steering wheel, necessitating replacement. The wheel is removed with a special tool designed specifically for that purpose.
Things You'll Need
Flathead screwdriver
Socket set and wrench
Two-arm gear puller
Sit in the seat of the Kubota tractor.
Pry out the center cover cap from the middle of the steering wheel with the flathead screwdriver.
Fit the proper-sized socket on the center nut of the steering wheel. Have an assistant hold the steering wheel while you unscrew the nut.
Hook the two arms of the gear puller under the bottom side of the steering wheel. Position the center bolt of the puller on the steering-wheel shaft.
Tighten the center bolt of the puller with the proper sized socket. The downward pressure pops the steering wheel off the steering column shaft.
Pul offl the steering wheel.
