Alcohol
Cotton balls

Diatomaceous earth

Apple cider vinegar

Spray bottle
Get rid of ticks promptly by soaking a cotton ball in rubbing alcohol and applying it to the tick attached to you, your family member or pet. Grasp the tick by the body, using the cotton ball, and pull it straight out. Flush the tick down the toilet to discard.
Vacuum all surfaces such as upholstery, carpeting, pet bedding and drapes to remove ticks, fleas, eggs and larvae. Sprinkle these surfaces with diatomaceous earth to kill the insects. This natural powder is safe to use around your family and pets but effectively kills insects within a few days by causing them to dehydrate.
Shampoo your pet to kill and remove fleas. After rinsing the shampoo off, pour apple cider vinegar over your pet's fur to naturally repel fleas from returning.
Place a few drops of lavender essential oil on your dog's collar to keep fleas away. Fill a spray bottle with water and add 20 drops lavender essential oil. Spray yourself before going outdoors, especially in wooded areas where ticks are prevalent, to repel fleas and ticks.
