Replacement batteries
Remove the 40-amp automotive-type fuse from the left side of the mower's housing by pulling the fuse straight out.
Remove the top grill from the mower. Work the grill off the battery shroud cover by carefully loosening one corner at a time until the grill becomes free. Unplug the terminal wire from the grill before removing it.
Remove the four screws holding the shroud to the battery support bracket with a Phillips screwdriver.
Unplug the four battery lead wires from their terminals. Note the position of each lead wire and the terminal to which it is connected.
Loosen and remove the four screws holding the battery support bracket to the motor. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws and take note how the controller board at the front of the motor is supported by the battery bracket. Remove the bracket carefully.
Pull the old battery up and out of the motor housing. Install a replacement battery situated in the housing in the same position.
Assemble the mower by reversing the steps. Secure the bracket in place and connect the new battery terminal wires in the same position as the old wires. Attach the shroud to the bracket using screws. Connect the terminal wire to the grill and snap the grill into place. Insert the fuse back into the fuse holder.
