FloraKleen is a product that, when used properly, removes the buildup of fertilizers and salts that can accumulate in your garden. Fertilizer or salt buildup is a major cause of nutrient lock-out causing plants to die. By removing all of the nutrients located within a growing medium or system, you are flushing the plants.

Flushing a Hydroponic System before Harvest
Thoroughly read all the directions and precautions on the package before opening. This ensures you have a proper understanding of the product and what to do in the event of an emergency.
Drain the entire hydroponic system of all liquids. You want to do this at least two days prior to harvest to ensure your crop tastes the way it should rather than salty or with a chemical taste. Make sure that the system has thoroughly drained and there is no left over liquid in with the plants or growing medium. Let the system set dry for an hour or two.
Clean out the water reservoir. This ensures that you will not have any left over fertilizers or salts in your system that will contaminate the system when you refill the water. Refill the reservoir to the correct depth with fresh, clean water.
Add FloraKleen to the fresh water in the reservoir at a rate of 2 teaspoons per gallon of water. Run the system with this mix, without adding anything further, until harvest time.
Using FloraKleen at Other Times
Flush your hydroponic system once a month using FloraKleen between nutrient changes. For younger or frail plants, use 1 teaspoon per gallon or 2 teaspoons per gallon for older, stronger plants. Add FloraKleen directly to your reservoir.
After the Flora Kleen has circulated through the system for one to two hours, thoroughly drain the hydroponic system. While the system is empty, take a few minutes to clean down any residue build up in the reservoir.
Fill up the reservoir with fresh water to the recommended level. Add nutrients as you normally would. Make sure you test the pH levels to ensure proper nutrient dosage.
For plants in soil or soilless mediums not in a hydroponic system, fill a watering can with clean water. Add 2 teaspoons of Flora Kleen per gallon, directly into the watering can.
Thoroughly wet the growing medium with the FloraKleen mixture, until runoff occurs, or until it drains through the bottom of the pot. When it is time to water next, resume your normal feeding schedule.
