The safest way to get the bird out of the home is out a door.
Things You'll Need
Light blocking fabric
Sunlight
Open any door that leads to the outdoors.
Cover all windows with light-blocking fabric.
Turn off all lights.
Watch as the bird instinctively flies toward the light and as soon as it is safely outside, shut the door.
Remove all light blocking fabric.
