Removing the poison ivy plant from your yard naturally will protect the environment from dangerous chemicals.
Things You'll Need
4 cups white distilled vinegar
1/4 cup salt
Spray bottle
1 tsp. liquid dish soap
Garden gloves
Combine 4 cups of white vinegar with 1/4 cup of table salt in a spray bottle.
Add 1 tsp. of liquid dish soap to the solution.
Shake the spray bottle to dissolve the salt.
Spray the homemade mixture onto the poison ivy plant. Cover the leaves and the soil around the poison ivy plant to ensure that you kill it. The soap helps the solution to stick to the weed, which will allow the salt and vinegar to soak into the plant and deprive it of moisture.
Spray the solution on the poison ivy daily. When it is dead, wear gloves to protect your hands, dig up the poison ivy and dispose of it.
