A Troy-Bilt riding lawnmower can be a luxury for those with large lawns to maintain; Troy-Bilt owners know the importance of keeping their investment in top shape. When one of the front tires goes flat it can be an inconvenience. You can change the front tire with just a few tools and a 15- by 6-inch lawnmower tire.
Things You'll Need
Lawnmower tire 15 by 6 inches
Wrench
Hydraulic jack
Block
Place the Troy-Bilt riding lawnmower on a flat surface. Clean the debris from the lawnmower tires and surrounding areas.
Loosen the nuts on the front tire of the Troy-Bilt lawnmower that needs replacing.
Place blocks behind the rear tires of the lawnmower to keep it in place while you change the tire.
Place the hydraulic jack under the mower near the front tire and release the locking mechanism on the jack. Move the lever on the jack up and down to raise the mower roughly 2 inches.
Remove the nuts from the front tire on the lawnmower with the wrench. Take the front tire off its axle.
Place the new front tire on the axle and tighten the nuts with the wrench.
Lower the jack and the lawnmower to the ground and remove the jack.
Check the nuts on the tire to make sure they are tight. Use the wrench to turn the nuts to the right as far as they will go.
