Spectracide Brush Killer is a concentrated, liquid herbicide that is designed to kill woody shrubs and small trees. According to the manufacturer, the chemicals will kill over 120 different types of weeds and shrubs in as little as 24 hours. In addition, the solution is waterproof, which means that the effectiveness is not diminished if it rains. The main herbicides in the Spectracide Brush Killer formula include 2,4-D, 2-ethylhexyl ester and Dichlorprop-p, 2-ethylhexyl ester.
Things You'll Need
Garden sprayer
Water
Fill a garden sprayer with 1/2 gallon water and then add 3 to 5 oz. Spectracide Brush Killer, which equates to approximately 6 to 10 tbsp.
Add another 1/2 gallon of water to the garden sprayer and place the top on the sprayer. Shake it well to combine the water and herbicide together.
Point the nozzle of the garden sprayer at the shrubs or brush you want to kill and spray them with the solution until it drips off of the leaves. Spray the tops and bottoms of all leaves as well as the stems of the plants.
Wait five to seven days and examine the brush and shrubs for evidence of new growth or plants that are still green. If needed, apply the brush killer solution to the leaves and stems a second time.
