Banvel herbicide is a broad-leaf weed controller that can be used before seeding or during crop growth. It is produced by the BASF chemical company, a leader in chemical herbicides and insecticides. Banvel is a concentrated solution, which means that it must be diluted with water prior to application. Banvel works best on grasses, wheat, oats, corn and other grains. The proper use of Banvel herbicide is essential to successful crop growth and weed control. Misuse of the product can result in damage to the crops as well as to the applier of the herbicide.

Applicator with water tank
Fill the water tank with one-half of the specified amount of water. Mixed Banvel should be applied at 11 to 12 oz. per acre. The agitator on your applicator machine should be running for the entire mixing procedure.
Use a 50-mesh filter screen to keep out particulate matter. Add the Banvel to the water tank. For all but canary seed and barley add from 3 to 4 oz. of Banvel per acre. For canary seed, mix in 4 oz. per acre and for barley, mix in 3 oz. per acre.
Add the rest of the water to the water tank. To ensure adequate uniformity during application, keep the mixture agitating for the entirety of the application and mixing process.
Spray the herbicide uniformly across the fields, following guidelines for application of 11 to 12 oz. per acre.
Tips & Warnings
Apply Banvel less than 4 hours before a rainfall. The rain helps to further dilute and spread the mix to all of the crops.
