Red angel is a variety of anthurium characterized by its upright shape and dark green leaves. In spring, the red angel anthurium will produce waxy red, heart-shaped blooms that are actually called "spathes," with white and yellow elongated spadices that grow up from the center of each spathe. Although red angel anthurium is native to the tropics, it has become a popular and easy-to-grow houseplant.

Liquid houseplant fertilizer
Water the red angel anthurium whenever the top of the soil feels slightly dry to the touch. Water the plant moderately, because too much water can cause damage to the roots, and can cause the leaves to turn yellow.
Put the plant in a cool room where the temperature will remain about 60 degrees for six weeks during the winter. Water the plant sparingly during this time.
Put the red angel anthurium in bright light, but avoid putting it directly in a window or in hot afternoon sunlight. Keep the temperature fairly constant, and avoid drafts. Don't put the plant too close to air conditioners, heat vents and radiators.
Fertilize the red angel anthurium once a month during the growing season, using a good quality liquid houseplant fertilizer. Don't fertilize during the winter months.
Keep the anthurium neat and groomed. Remove any wilted, dead or brown leaves.
