Wheatgrass provides many health benefits when consumed either in whole form or by extracting the juices and using them in recipes. Wheatgrass is easy to grow in an indoor environment, which means that almost anyone can enjoy the nutritional benefits of wheatgrass if they desire. The process of growing wheatgrass takes approximately one week from start to finish. Watering the wheatgrass will be a daily task as you nurture the grass to the point of harvesting.
Things You'll Need
Spray bottle filled with water
Sharp scissors
Pull back the cover you are using while the wheatgrass seeds are germinating, the day after you plant them.
Spray a light mist over the entire seed area with the spray bottle.
Replace the cover over the seeds.
Repeat Steps 1 through 3 once per day until you see leaves and stems sprouting from the seeds. When the seeds begin to germinate, do not replace the cover after spraying the seeds.
Continue spraying the seeds once per day following germination.
Harvest the wheatgrass when it is approximately eight inches tall. Cut it down so that the grass is 1/2 inch tall.
Spray the cut wheatgrass daily in the same fashion and prepare to harvest again in another week.
Discard the seeds and wheatgrass after two harvests and begin again.
