If you have an earwig pest control problem, it is possible to make natural earwig control at home so you can avoid the harsh chemicals of other products. There are many simple all natural household pest control options for helping with an infestation of not only earwigs, but a variety of other pests.
Here's how to make natural earwig control at home:
One earwig control option is to buy diatomaceous earth which is a powder composed of crushed up fossilized remains of diatoms (hard shelled algae). You can purchase this either at your local drugstore, hardware store, over the Internet, etc. Pour the powder evenly over all surfaces that need to be treated for earwigs such as foundations of houses, basements, along walkways, around the base of trees, along wood fences, and anywhere else that you have an earwig pest control problem. Repeat this treatment every 2-3 days for two weeks.
Another all natural method for earwig control is to fill a straight sided container about 1/3 full with vegetable oil. The earwigs will climb in and get stuck in the oil. Continue to remove the bodies as they fall in.
A third method for natural earwig pest control includes mixing 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil, 1 tablespoon molasses, 1 tablespoon dry yeast, and 8 ounces of water. Mix these up and place into a small container. Bury it under the ground. This bait trap works well as a natural alternative to earwig control insecticides.
